Ciao Wellness Friend,
I hope this e-mail finds you safe and well!
This week, I went to check out my knees because they had been hurting me more than usual. I visited an Orthopedic and received a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to understand the degree of Osteoarthritis that I have. To make this story short, it turns out that part of my knees are 80 years old! That's practically twice my age.
It turns out that excessive wear and tear, along with a genetic predisposition for knee problems can result in quite the conundrum of diagnosis.
What a pity, huh? Not really!
The way I see it, this presents a great opportunity for learning how to better take care of my health and knees in particular.
Given the technological advances, there are many modalities of improving the situation and still living a very active lifestyle - without furthering the damage to my knees.
Are you curious to know what I am going to do?
First of all, set my mindset right! I approach the situation with curiosity!
This is partly my predisposition, but also thanks to my training with Positive Intelligence.
Then I will make sure to improve my diet. Yes, even a Health Coach can improve it. I'm not perfect! I will be even more intentional about eating mostly Whole Foods Plant Based, and I will limit foods that contribute to inflammation (i.e.dairy, alcohol, sugar, etc).
Lastly, I'll hire the help of a Physical Therapist so I can effectively improve body strength and limit the pain. Thus ensuring that the way I exercise is low impact and does not place undue stress on my knees.
There you have my plan of action in a nutshell!
Does reading my story make you think of an area in your life that you need to address? Is there anything in your body or mind that needs addressing?
If so, what's holding you back? Are you scared to visit the Doctor?
I hope that whatever it is, you soon have the courage to take care of yourself.
Our life is precious and we deserve to live it to the fullest, with great health in body, mind, and spirit.
If you need support, I'm here to cheer you on and motivate you to take better care of yourself!
