We're Hiring!

Hello and Happy New Year!

First, thank you all for your amazing, ongoing support! Whether you are giving five dollars or five hundred, you are helping make sure we succeed in protecting the Penobscot Bay, the Little River ecosystem, and our communities from Nordic Aquafarms' outdated and ecologically destructive proposal.

Seeking a Director to Join Upstream Watch

The Upstream Watch Board began 2023 looking forward. We’ve learned many things over the past 4 1/2 years.

In particular, it's become abundantly clear that Maine needs an uncompromising group of committed, dynamic citizens who are not afraid to demand that environmental laws, intended to protect the Penobscot Bay and watershed, be followed and enforced. We also realize that Nordic’s proposal will not be the last threat to the Penobscot Bay and its ecological health, especially in light of the climate and extinction crises. We are determined to prevent other such ill-conceived schemes, and to launch proactive efforts that not only protect and restore the Penobscot Bay, but guarantee that environmental laws are enforced and effective.

Therefore, we are taking the bold step of hiring a Director. Please read our job description by clicking the below button for more details, and please share with anyone you believe may be qualified!

Interested parties are encouraged to submit cover letter, resume and three recommendations to Susie O'Keefe at sokeeffe@coa.edu.
