Summer Camp is HERE!

More than 1,000 participants have registered, program registration has been ongoing, and the 2022 Canyon Camp Staff has checked in as final preparations are in place for an AWESOME summer serving you and your Scouts.  
 
For Scouts BSA: 
Sunday Check-in Basics:  Whether your unit is attending Canyon Camp for the first time, or it's your 30th check-in at Camp, we recommend you review our Canyon Camp Check-in Basics document before arriving at Camp. NOTE: Canyon Camp does not assign campsites until your arrival at Camp to ensure accommodation of unit size to campsite and any health needs that may be required for participants in Camp. 
 
Family and Visitor Nights:  Join us at Canyon Camp June 22, 29, July 6, 13, or 20 for our weekly family night.  All are welcome, and you can learn more today at www.canyoncampbsa.org/visit.
 
During your Stay: Visit our resources webpage to see the weekly schedule, unit leader guide, weekly menus, and more!  NOTE: If your unit is coordinating a carpool for PICK-UP on your returning Saturday, we recommend they arrive between 10:00 and 10:30 AM for departure.
 
For Webelos / AOL Weekend
The 2022 Welcome Letter is posted online and this will also be sent to you in July.  We look forward to serving you next month!  Feel free to visit our Webelos/AOL Website for additional information. 
 
We can't wait to fill the parking lot with Scouts ready for a fun outdoor adventure starting THIS Sunday. See you soon as we build upon the Spirit of Canyon Camp!

Webelos and Arrow Of Light Camp: Two Participant Slots Remain
 
We have seen tremendous registration from families across the Midwest.  Only two participant slots remain for the annual Webelos/AOL Weekend.  Have you registered?  
 
If you miss your opportunity to register, we have created a "Waitlist" for those of you who are interested in attending, but unable to do so.  If an unforeseen cancelation should occur, you would be the first contacted to sign-up for the weekend.  Try to register first and foremost, but if you are unable to, sign-up on our waitlist today. This is non-binding and does not serve as registration unless contacted in the future to make payment and register for the event. 
 
We are thrilled to see Packs, Dens, and families excited about our upcoming summer camp weekend.  See you July 29-31!  Additional information will be emailed to all participants by July 15.

Alumni Corner:
1996 Reunion 60th Anniversary Video Uncovered
 
Last week, Camp alumnus Steve Chandler shared some uncovered footage from the 1996 Canyon Camp Reunion.  This 60th anniversary gathering features footage of Denny Pratt, Father Schwartz, Roy Prange, Ed Laughlin, Kevin Lamm, and many many more milling in the backround or featured throughout the hour+ of footage captured by Connie Chandler.  THANK YOU!

Interesting to note, footage of the "new" Vickery Health Lodge after its recent groundbreaking is captured in this as well.  Set some time aside, make some popcorn, and enjoy the nostalgia as you take a look back at where we've come from (and who some of the most important folks have been) as we take a moment of pause in being thankful of where we are today.  The vision for Camp's future continues to grow brightly and moments like the 1996 reunion remind us of why this is so important.

October 8th will be this year's annual Woodcutter's Ball.  Save the date and we will see you for a day of service, fellowship, and time at a place we all love: Canyon Camp!
