POSTGRAD SCHOLARSHIPS
The Ibrahim Scholarships support aspiring African leaders at a number of distinguished academic institutions. The scholarships develop the talent of outstanding young Africans in selected disciplines. Please note: the scholarships listed below are the only ones we currently offer and are for African nationals only.
1. London Business School
The MIF scholarship for Africa supports outstanding students on a full-time MBA programme. Each year one scholarship, providing full payment of fees, is awarded to an exceptional African candidate with financial need.

2. School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) Scholarships are offered on the Governance for Development in Africa Initiative, a programme which studies the socio-economic, political and legal links between governance and development. 3. University of Birmingham
One MSc in Governance and State-Building per year is offered. This two-year programme includes a six-month internship at the Foundation Secretariat. Full tuition fees, a living allowance and airfare to the UK are covered.

4. Chatham House
The Mo Ibrahim Foundation Academy Fellowship supports one Academy fellow each year from Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Uganda or Zambia who spends ten months at Chatham House. The Fellowship is a joint initiative between Chatham House and the Mo Ibrahim Foundation.

2. POSTGRAD FELLOWSHIPS
The Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships form a selective programme designed to mentor future African leaders. Through this annual fellowship programme, we seek to deepen and broaden our growing network which continues to contribute its skills and learning to a better Africa. The Fellowships offer the opportunity to work in the executive offices of either the AfDB (Abidjan), ECA (Addis Ababa) or the ITC (Geneva) with an annual stipend of US $100,000. The fellows can apply for one of these opportunities:
International Trade Center: The Fellowship offers a mentorship experience with the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director of ITC in Geneva, Switzerland to prepare young Africans for leadership of major organizations and multilateral institutions
United Nations Economic Commission for Africa: The Foundation Fellow will be mentored by the Executive Secretary and/or a designated Representative in the Office of the Executive Secretary (OES). With this guidance, the Fellow will work on the design and implementation of strategic assignments in support of the ECA’s mandate of contributing to the governance and development of member states.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must hold African nationality.
Applicants must be under 40 years of age at time of application (women with children should be under 45 years of age).
Master's degree in economics, business, international development, international relations or related area. Minimum seven years of relevant work experience.
Advanced English. Knowledge of other UN official languages in particular French or Spanish is an asset
Knowledge of international trade development and trade related development assistance (TRTA)
Strong research and writing skills; ability to analyze and interpret complex concepts and data
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals at all levels and different multicultural backgrounds
