News From

The Moon's Nest Playschool,

our unschooling/wildschooling cooperative based in Portland, Or

Hello Moon's Nest families!

It's been so sweet exploring the first signs of spring with your kiddos this month. We've been revisiting our favorite neighborhood haunts, basking in the sun when it shines (and continuing our winter puddle-jumping practice when it doesn't!), painting ourselves with mud, and digging our fingers and toes into sand and soil. We'll be gearing up for our Welcome Spring! celebration on Friday, March 27th (after our Equinox repose), with ritual, crafts, and probably a sweet treat or two--friends and families welcome!

Spring Equinox Break

The Moon's Nest Playschool will take our annual Spring Equinox Repose to honor the balance of light and welcome the Spring season to our hearts and to the land. Please add it to your calendars! We will be breaking from our usual playschool  schedule from Thursday March 19 to Tuesday March 24th.  There will be no regularly scheduled playschool sessions during those dates!

However, while playschool is on break, Miz Flow and the Moon's Nest School of Magic, Mischief, & Mystery has plenty of offerings to keep your witchlets engaged in wild Spring season play magic. Join her for the 2nd annual Phlox & Flame Witch Camp, and her Spring Break Field Studies. Read on for all those details.

Did ya know!

In addition to our Portland based Monday-Friday playschool program,

the Moon's Nest also offers child and family centered camp programming.

The Moon's Nest School of Magic. Mischief, & Mystery offers nature based, magically infused, gender affirming programming for a variety of multi day camps and gatherings in Oregon and Washington. Some of these camps are small and are organized by the Moon's Nest, and others we are contracted with to organize kids programming for larger camps and gatherings.

Our camp programming is an immersion into the sound, smells, and sights of the season. We delve into the natural world, learn how to harvest and wild craft with ritual and ceremony, and give something back in return. We also leave lots of room for play and getting up to all kinds of mischief. And of course, there's the infamous magic shows from Mountain Man Magic.

If you've got a camp or gathering coming up and are looking

for a high quality kids program coordinator, send us an email.

We're currently booking for Washington and Oregon locations.

Come witchlets!

Come gather in honor of the Spring Equinox. Come gather with us we give last rites to Winter and welcome Spring to the land and to our hearts. Weave with us the magic that will wake our green blooded kin from their Winter repose.  Come feast and craft beside the wood stove. Come work and learn with the elements of earth, water, fire, and air. Come sprinkle the soils of the forests with the seeds of your play magic.

Come, and gather.
