⚡️ Moments of Brilliance and Wonder 🍄 |
As we venture into August, nature treats us to an array of captivating events that mirror the rhythms of our individual and collective human journeys. Shooting stars illuminate the night sky in the celestial spectacle of the Perseid Meteor Shower, and, just like these meteor trails that blaze across the cosmos, our own paths are filled with moments of brilliance and wonder. In the Northern Hemisphere, fields and gardens are abundant with summer harvests, reminding us how our collective efforts yield prosperity, enriching the lives of those around us and nourishing our community. Also in the Northern Hemisphere, the journey of the beautiful monarch butterflies begins as they head towards warmer lands, with their voyage echoing our own desire for growth, exploration, and new horizons. The coming of August and whispers of autumn ahead serve as a poignant reminder of the cyclical nature of life. Just as nature's fruits ripen with care and patience, we too can nurture our skills and passions to reap the rewards of what we have sown. |

Foresters and farmers, shepherds and soil keepers...🌱🌟 'With the Land' book out now! 🌟🌱 |
By and about people who have tilled and cared for the lands of Britain to produce food, fuel and timber, 'With the Land' is a collection of stories, poetry, interviews, recipes, essays, artwork and songs. Spanning landscapes that range from forests to uplands, city farms to rural hinterlands, each section tells the story of how a dedicated network of landworkers are pushing against history to create a radical future-looking movement towards food sovereignty, agroecology, and land justice. 💚 We are so proud to be supporting this project and we hope all our friends will enjoy reading this moving and insightful collection 💚 |

🍇 Food for Thought 🍇 A conversation with Helena Norberg-Hodge |
Helena Norbert-Hodge is an author, activist and linguist and a person close to Be the Earth's heart; as an inspiration to our founders and closely involved in our creation. She recently joined our founder Seth Tabatznik live on Instagram for a conversation about possible futures that move away from the current global economic system. Helena's book Ancient Futures critiques the notion of ‘development’, exploring issues surrounding globalization, the malaise of industrial society and the loss of indigenous wisdom. She is founder and director of Local Futures, an international non-profit organization dedicated to renewing ecological and social well-being by strengthening communities and local economies worldwide to build an economics of happiness. |

🌸 "It became clear how brave our work would be" 🌸Musa Gwebani's Giving Circle Story |
The Giving Circle Programme was developed by Be the Earth to share power with experienced activists. With an emergent and innovative methodology, Giving Circle allocates part of Be the Earth's budget to projects, individuals, and communities that are chosen collectively by activists and experienced leaders on the ground. Grounded in deep personal trust and shared values, Musa Gwebani shares reflections on her experiences as part of Be The Earth's Giving Circle programme. She found both challenges and rewards on this journey, working in new and radical ways to reach people who would otherwise not access support through conventional philanthropy, with a focus on women, the environment, indigenous practices, and community. |

✨ Leo Season ✨Recalibration of our Heart's Desires |
We are officially in Leo Season, a cycle that is not only defined by one, but several, Astrological transits. This month there are three major energetic transitions occurring simultaneously: Venus is retrograde, the Lunar Nodes moving into a new sign, and the Sun opposing Pluto during the first week of Leo season. Here's how you can best align with each of these energetic movements: Venus Retrograde in Leo For 40 days and 40 nights as Venus retrogrades in Leo we are being asked to revisit, reflect and reconnect with our self-confidence, self-worth, and creative self-expression. Venus retrogrades can illuminate past wounds around our relationships and how we value ourselves. It's a great time to learn about how you show up for yourself and for others. Lunar Nodes in Aries & Libra The nodes are known as the compass of our charts. When the North Node moves into Aries, there is an emphasis on how we connect with our sense of autonomy, drive, and self-discovery. The next 18 months will be a time to embrace action and initiative. Sun in Cancer Opposing Pluto in Capricorn This oppositional force can sometimes point toward power struggles, which can be internal or external struggles. When this transit occurs there is usually an illumination of something in the collective that is helping you gain a better sense of how you shine and express your willpower in the world. In the midst of this month's potent transits, may you allow your soul's most burning desire to lead the way |
