Some like it hot--and this summer hasn't disappointed. And while we wouldn't mind a little less humidity, we're excited about August.

In this email:

• Why you SHOULDN'T have "the talk" with your kids

• Need a pap? Openings NOW

• 2-hour Pelvic Pain Visit with Dr. Rubin August 12

• Dr. Rubin's vacation dates in August

• Virtual pelvic pain course for clinicians

Why you shouldn't be having "The Talk" with your kids...

Andrea Martin, our amazing nurse practitioner, posted this video on instagram recently, which is spot on.

The sex talk shouldn't be a single 60-minute talk, but more like 60 one-minute talks.

We should be empowering our kids from a young age to understand their body parts, how they work, how they change, and how they can impact other people.

We want to help!

Andrea is offering young adult empowerment visits. Let us help you help your children navigate these issues.

We have openings in August!

Call or email us to schedule.

For those who like reading, a new book about this very topic was featured recently on NPR's Fresh Air.

Need a Pap?

Pandemic has left many of us putting off annual visits.

Andrea, our certified women's health nurse practitioner, has openings now and wants to spend time with you!

Remember, if we need to do labs, all fees are billed directly through your insurance!

Vacation for Dr. Rubin

Can you believe my kids have never been to a beach? Not my proudest parenting fact, but we are changing that this August!

Dr. Rubin will be out of the office August 15-26 since the kids are between camp and school.

The office will be open and Andrea and Sophia will be around to help if you need anything.

Clincians, PLEASE consider registering for this important virtual course. Scholarships are available if you have financial hardship.

What if you truly understood how to diagnose and treat your patients who come to you with pelvic pain?

Too often patients are told this is all in their heads. Read all these devastating accounts from a recent post on our facebook page.

I am the very proud education chair for ISSWSH - The International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health. In this role I help organize courses aimed at teaching clinicians how to practice sexual medicine.

We are excited to offer a new masterclass this year.

This course includes training in genitopelvic pain conditions, including vulvodynia, overactive pelvic floor muscle dysfunction, clitorodynia, vulvar dermatoses, painful bladder syndrome/IC, pudendal neuralgia and everything that causes vulvar irritation and dyspareunia.

Starting in August, there will be once a month 2-hour sessions on Friday afternoon (also recorded) for registrants spanning from August 2022 to February 2023.

Speakers are top sexual medicine specialists including OB/GYNs, urologists, physical therapists, and sexologists who have dedicated their practice and research to Female Sexual Dysfunction and Genitopelvic Pain.
