MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH MONTH |
Mental health promotion and increasing access to mental health resources are a major part of our annual scope of work. The video above highlights some of the experiences and insights from our Chariho Youth Ambassadors. Since 1949, Mental Health America and affiliates across the country have observed May is Mental Health Month by reaching out to millions of people through the media, local events, and screenings. We invite other organizations to join us in spreading the word that mental health is something everyone should care about by using the May is Mental Health Month toolkit materials and conducting awareness activities. |

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the mental health of people of all ages. Now, more than ever, it is critical to reduce the stigma around mental health struggles, because that stigma often prevents individuals from seeking help.

Since October, we have been utilizing these wooden signs (as well as indoor paper versions) to promote crisis-based and preventative mental health resources. To date, this QR has been scanned by more than 2,400 individuals around Washington County, and the following actions were taken: - 597 people clicked on "I Need Help Now" - 471 clicked on "Local Resources" - 1202 people clicked on "Stress Reduction" - 167 people took no immediate action
We look forward to continuing this initiative and welcome your input on where you think additional signs can go in our community! Reach out to Dan@CharihoYouth.org to provide any suggestions. You are also more than welcome to download the paper version of the signs and use freely. Reach out if you need printed copies! Thank you for your continued support! |
