MAY NEWSLETTER

Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic,

Member of the Month will resume when the Club is back in session in the Fall

In light of the current State of IL re-opening restrictions and the building damage that was sustained from the recent storm, the Boys & Girls Club of Joliet has made the difficult decision to CANCEL our traditional facility based 2020 Summer Session. This was not an easy decision for us, but we are offering an Alternative Summer Session to youth in the Joliet area for NO FEE. This Summer Session will include the following:

-2 daily meals per day, lunch and snack (curbside pick up)

-Weekly activity kits that promote education, health & welfare, and life skills (curbside pick up)

-Virtual games and mentoring w/Club staff

-Weekly challenges w/Club staff

-Monthly birthday celebrations for Club youth with our partner, The Birthday Giving Program

Registration will run from 6/15-6/21. You can register your child through our website (www.bgcjoliet.com), or by calling (815) 723-3434 between 10:00 AM-3:00 PM. Your child must be registered in order to participate and receive activity kits/meals.

The 2020 Alternative Summer Session will LAUNCH on 6/22/20 and will run until 8/7/20.

This Alternative Summer Session would not have been possible without the dedicated support of the United Way of Will County and the Will County COVID 19 Response Fund.

Thank you for your understanding and support, we truly appreciate all that have reached out and offered resources to the Club during this challenging time. We look forward to re-opening the new and improved Boys & Girls Club of Joliet to youth in the Fall.

May Updates

Tornado/Storm causes Severe Damage at BGC Joliet

Unfortunately, the recent tornado/storm that recently hit the Joliet area caused tremendous damage to the Boys & Girls Club of Joliet.

Water damage has forced us to gut our entire first floor area, which includes the game room, movie room, computer labs, and main offices.

Despite this challenge, we will rebuild and return better than ever in the Fall!

Thank you to all that have reached out with support!

We had a great time with the awesome staff at OTR and we greatly appreciate all of their hard work during these very difficult times.
