ACES AND PLACES
• Congratulations to Hensman Sponsor Amcal Community Pharmacy who celebrated their 70th birthday recently! A few Hensman faces were spotted at the event with some managing to pick up a few tips, free samples and even a bit of cake!
• Get well soon cards are on the way to Winston Okkers who is enjoying a short break from tennis after cataract surgery and wife Cheryl who is on the improve following a foot operation. Frank Hall is recovering from Covid, Michael Liu is on the mend after recent surgery, and so is Ross Collard who is recuperating while hanging out with his cattle in Gin Gin. The knives have been sharpened in the Hensman Bar and Chris Neil can attest to their upgraded danger-status.
• Doug Webster has been splashing his smile all around while recovering from a nasty calf injury. If you would like to book Doug for your upcoming event, catch him at the kettle on Wednesday afternoons!
• If you've been following along with Tennis West's Junior Masters Rankings, you will have noticed quite a few Hensman champs on the current lists! Shout outs to Thien Le, Aidan Chan, Zayah Baker, Jovana Novakovic, Mayla Manoj, Keisuke Kogo, Elijah Liu, Elena Manoj, Karin Hiramatsu, and Jacqueline Lombardi. Keep up the great work Juniors!
• Did you happen to make it down to Saturday Social Tennis last week to catch Dr Harry from Bax Chiropractic and his presentation on spinal health? Your spine is a pretty vital part of playing tennis so if you haven't had yours checked for a while, get down to the clinic - and jump into one of their new Yoga Classes while you're at it!
• Well done to everyone who has made it through the Winter League season! We have had quite a few washouts so the very best of luck to all who still have finals to play this week!!
• Club office resident Ian Rundle is off on a well deserved break with his partner-in-crime Anne, leaving the kids at home to go gallivanting around Europe. Have a blast, you two! Andy Guneratne is visiting family in London while Ray Ferguson is soaking up the sun and angling for a marlin in Exmouth. Welcome home to Chris Neil who returned from the land of massages and cocktails after a relaxing time in Thailand, John Bamfield who took in the sights of Malta and Sardinia and Ian Seymour who has returned from the east coast after a recent family bereavement.
• Calling all Junior artists: The City of South Perth are calling for helpers to create a public art project and paint a mural at Village Green Shopping Centre on Sunday. More info here.
• Welcome to our new members: Rob Sri, Shyaam Patel, Sandy and Paul Ross and Joanne Rava and welcome back to returning member Aden Rundle!
