September Newsletter

What a summer!

Summer... If I could sum it up in just one word, it would be "Memorable." We laughed, we cried & we fought. Just being real here! We spent the first part of the month getting ready for the Iowa State Fair. Then, we spent the next part of the month actually at the Iowa State Fair. In the 11 days of the fair, 1,133,958 people passed thru the gates...that is INSANE! I swear, majority of them stopped by where the pigs were stalled because we were right across from the Big Boar.

While at the Iowa State Fair, Wade and I managed a delicate balancing act of getting both kids & livestock at the right place & at the right time. We did more than just survive, we created so many memories that I hope our kids will remember. I hope they remember how much time we spent with them.

We came home from state fair & had a whole week off. The kids caught up on some sleep, organized their bedrooms & I closed up the camper for the season. I washed all the bedding & surfaces and made sure to put it all back into totes & back into the camper. I know next year, I will be thanking myself that I took all the time to do it. The kids have asked when we can go camping...and I have told them next county fair!

School started last week...and my kids are not happy about it. The both are struggling to get back into the groove. I honestly can't blame them, they truly love staying home & helping with the dogs & livestock. Sydney is playing volleyball in junior high and that is adding just one more thing to our lives. As of now, she is enjoying it & we look forward to watching her play.

We are ready for the end of September to get here as we are patiently waiting for puppies to arrive. It seems really odd to not have any puppies right now! So until then, we will get the sleep we need & get things ready for the new arrivals.

What I am Reading & Watching

I started this series...probably three years ago and stopped. I can't remember why but I picked it back up again during my half-marathon training thru Audible & Libby. In this series of 24 books, a group of women band together in the town of San Francisco to help break cases. They develop a really strong friendship in the process of breaking the cases. It is no Jack Reacher, but it definitely is a page turner.

I think I have turned the T.V. on three times this month. Each time, I just defaulted to this series since it was on Amazon Prime and I needed just something in the background. I forgot how much I loved this show. I started watching it the first year Wade & I were married and we didn't have cable. Oh, the good old days!

Puppy Training Videos

A few days ago, I was searching for puppy training videos for Jackson and I came across this guy on YouTube. His videos are short & to the point...right up my alley! I highly encourage you to take a few minutes to watch these videos. These are saved in my feed & plan on having Jackson watch them at least weekly.

An Update on Junior

I LOVE THIS DOG!

Not only is he so darn cute, he is super smart. Jackson has been working with him just a few times a day. He can sit, stay, & come. They start a 4 week dog obedience class next week!

FALL LITTERS ARE COMING SOON!

Just a few more weeks before we will have puppies & we couldn't be more excited!!!

When we send puppies home, we send a sample of our favorite pet shampoo from Monat. I signed up to be a Market Partner 5 years ago when they launched and believe in all their products 100%

I used their haircare and skincare line. So does Sydney and Jackson. Wade still uses Melaleuca...it's about the only thing that gets piggy smells out, LOL!

If you are interested in getting some or the spray, here is a link.
