Celebrating World Oceans Day: Cutting the line has launched!

The purpose of World Oceans Day is to inform the public of the impact of human actions on the ocean, develop a worldwide movement of citizens for the ocean, and mobilise and unite the world's population on a project for the sustainable management of the world's oceans. Cutting The Line ticks all the boxes, we cannot think of a better way to celebrate World Oceans Day than launching our documentary!

Today, on World Oceans Day, our team showed the movie for the very first time to a selected audience of 120 supporters, friends and family members in our home town Walvis Bay - and the response was overwhelming. No eyes stayed dry as Tony talks about the pure madness out there, Naude addresses the frustration of missing an entangled seal during rescue patrol, and Katja reflects on their family's journey with childhood cancer.

If you have not signed up yet - the film will be available on Vimeo for a few more days for the price of US4.99.

Profits will be shared between the non-profit organisation Plastic Oceans International, which has been funding most of the film, and OCN.

Please tell all your colleagues, friends and family members to go ahead and watch it too.

Cutting The Line has kept our minds preoccupied for the past weeks, but we have not forgotten our core mission: rescuing seals from plastic pollution. Our seal rescue count stands at the record breaking number of 248. We are dealing with the usual suspects: fishing line, fishing nets, packing straps, plastic bags, industrial gaskets, clothing, and a lot of other items that do not belong in our ocean. It is our hope that Cutting The Line will help shed a light on plastic pollution and ocean rubbish while there are still marine animals left that can be saved.

We will do a live Q&A session on Youtube about Cutting The Line this upcoming Saturday, 18h00 Central Africa Time (UCT/GMT+2). Here is the link:
