What is going on inside our hives? Join us as we "see" inside without opening, using infrared photography and temperature/humidity sensors as well as our beekeeping expertise. FLIR, BroodMinder and experience will help us know what is going on in our hives.
We also promise lots of time for questions and discussion about our hives, and just "talking bees." Formal meeting will end by 8 PM but feel free to hang out and "cluster." After all, that's how the bees are hanging out this month.
Any questions or problems with the zoom link, etc. call or text Eli Ocheltree 206-859-7392 or email eliochel@snokingbka.org
Join us at the meeting as we look inside hives such as this 10-frame at the Sultan HiveSide with the FLIR image above and the Broodminder graph below. Technology such as this is becoming more affordable and more accessible to the hobbyist and small scale beekeeper, and it's fun! We will look at the free software and online sharing that comes with this technology, which we can add to our beekeeping expertise to gain a better picture of what those bees are doing when we can't see them directly. Actually, Ron Robinson has also promised to show us some pictures of his clear hive domes, positioned in such a way as to allow us to actually see directly into our hives in winter.
We hope to "talk bees" with you 6:30 PM this Wed Dec. 15.
If we have your mailing address, you may have received this card from us. Please keep checking www.snokingbka.org as we continue to improve it.
