Travel Exhibition Online

Hi Everyone,

Going anywhere this weekend? I think you would be interested in seeing how artists like me have interpreted their journeys and vacations. This theme has certainly informed and enriched my own artwork; I have noticed that my focus on the common buildings in Tuscany embodied my search for home. Spending a few months in another country allowed me to soak in more of its charming character, adapt to a new lifestyle, and more deeply identify with the culture. I have come to view France, England and Italy as parts of who I am now, and surrounding myself with their landscapes reminds me of how these experiences have helped me grow.

Only two of the paintings I completed while in Tuscany are still available for sale, and this is one of them. (The other is Florence at Twilight.) I started this Tuscan village painting en plein air on a hot day in spring, and later filled in the details in the studio.

Click on the image above to view more info about my piece on the Burlington Fine Arts Association website. The picture below will take you to the gallery of the whole exhibition. To buy a piece, contact the artist by email and arrange a pickup. The exhibition ends in just a few days, so check out this gorgeous work today!

Speaking of travel, I was reminded of this quote from a novel about a Jewish artist, which neatly captured my experience. While reading it, I was compelled to make a typography out of this statement:

Enjoy the sights,

George
