Spotlight on Women’s Health and Neurodivergence issues

Maria Caulfield Minister for mental health and Womens Health met with Chair Founder Jane Green of SEDSConnective for an important meeting on late diagnosis particularly for girls/women . It can take plus 50 years to get a diagnosis and the co-occurring issues of eating issues such as eating disorders and also physical eating issues common in autistic ADHD other neurodivergent people. 

We are also pleased to see recognition of other issues we often find members have such as endometriosis.  We know that pain is the most common demonimator but often disbelieved.  

Our support meeting Walk or Wheels at Wakehurst gardens amidst beautiful blossom and really enjoyed by all , some of whom are in the photo. 

Our Pilates sessions x 2 location are still in full swing and we’re receiving great feedback

Imagine being disabled, chronically ill and perhaps even a carer for similar in your family network yet often not believed .  

Articles in the The Guardian and at IPPR (think tank)  'estimated that the UK economy costs due to long term sickness is £43 billion'. Dame Sally Davies, DBE, states that 'good health is not only vital for people to live enjoyable lives but that it is also a "crucial determinant of our economic prospects, both at an individual and a national level"

Isabel Southgate raised £250 running 5k something she never thought she would be able to do after being so ill

We’re so grateful to Isabel who is currently studying nutrition for raising …. for SEDSConnective . She has suffered a range of symptoms like gastro problems, anxiety and POTS MCAS but now is able to do more. She realises there are lots of people out there who suffer more severely than her, so was keen to raise money now she can run again and raise awareness for SEDSConnective.
