hey there, !

i know, i know. this newsletter is coming a tiny bit late. but this month was quite a one! i've been working on so many things for my website and there's a bunch i'm trying to figure out behind the scenes. this month has really shown me the results of all the work i'm putting in, and it makes me really really grateful.

if you're new here, hi! this is my second ever newsletter i'm sending out. i'm so excited to have you here <3

February was pretty much filled with work stuff. I've been trying to sort a few things out for my website, put together a portfolio of work that I'll have on it eventually, aim for (somewhat) regular uploads for Youtube, and so much more. As the month was passing by, it felt slow and unproductive, but looking back on it now, it's been rather rich :3

One of the loveliest things that happened this month, I got my film back from developing! I tried out a new developing store, as well as new film and I am so in love with the results. I really enjoy film photography, and I'm excited to see where this hobby takes me! Here's a few of my favourite pictures from the past few months~

I also participated in a postcard exchange where I exchanged our self-designed postcards with 15 lovely artists. I got to package each envelope with love, buy and attach stamps, and drop them off at the post box! If only I could explain to you how happy this made me :) You can take it from me in writing that I will be investing in sending out letter mail for the rest of my life. haha.

Another very exciting thing I did- designing some new thank you cards! I cannot begin to explain to you how beautiful these turned out. I'm genuinely obsessed. I'll be putting them in my upcoming orders.

I'm really glad I have a design now that can be used as a print on its own. I have one up next to my computer, and my art wall, and I've given one to all of my family :)

I haven't really had the time to take on any big projects, but!

This month, I got back into using gouache after literal months. I've been really loving doing some simple, loose sketchbooking, painting things that make me happy. I'm loving trying out some new techniques using my gouache and its so much fun experimenting.

I'm hoping to make more of these pages and put together some kind of sketchbook postcard sets for my shop. And I am also looking to design some stickers eventually. There's so much in the works, it feels as if I'm overflowing with ideas. But you know, one step at a time.

I am also doing some back-end work to (finally???) enable international shipping for my website. I'm so close to making that happen, its giving me the tingles.

Be sure to check out my shop in case you'd like to purchase anything!

here's a little collection of books, videos, youtube channels and other things i found inspiring this month!

the picturebook of my dreams

i spent a good amount of time at my uni library this month, and i came across this book of illustrations. this particular edition is, i believe, from 1986- a collection of gorgeous illustrations that are bound to leave you in awe.

one of my favourite sections was the screenprinting section, i've never tried screenprinting myself, but i just found the work so inspiring! and honestly, that holds true for every illustration in this book.

this self help book

i've been reading this book by Louise Hay this month, it is beautiful. There's a lot of self - reflection and insight packed into this 200 page book. There's personal experiences, exercises, and lots of support that it offers, based around the idea of healing your body and healing your life.

Maisy Leigh's videos

Maisy is a designer, coder and software engineer who makes content related to healing, creating, storytelling and slow living. I've been absolutely loving the cozy vibes from her videos, and i feel really inspired by her work ethic, desk set up and how she organizes her life. also, her aesthetic is to die for.

trying new things & trusting the process | 🌷 painting tulips 🌷

check out my latest video from this month! i talk a little bit about my recent endeavour into my sketchbook- trying small, new things with my art and trusting in the journey i take to create it. it's a short one, but this has to be one of my favourites!

alrighty! that's all for this month :)

overall, February turned out to be a lot more fulfilling than i thought. I celebrated my 22nd birthday this month, started international shipping for my website, sent out packages to some lovely art friends, got some new art products in the works, it's been a good month in my books.

anyways, thank you for reading this far! i'm so happy to have you here. we'll talk soon <3

lots of love,

ness
