Dear friend!

Welcome back to my new and improved newsletter. I have been thinking a lot about how can I bring more value to your life, what can I do to give you space to breathe and slow down, to dig deeper into what is important to you. Each month there will be a different theme (or topic) that we can explore together. These topics are inspired by coaching work that I do with my clients and my own experiences. There is something so liberating and comforting in realising that we all go through similar struggles in our life. I am a strong believer that the world will be a better place if we learn from each other and share our experiences. Each month I will provide a bit of background story about the topic but more importantly, there will be journaling questions, techniques and inspiration on how to move forward. 

WHAT IS SELF-DOUBT?

The first topic I would like to delve deeper into is self-doubt. Everyone doubts themselves. It is one of the most natural processes in our life. Anytime we start something new, there is a level of self-doubt and it is important. Self-doubt is there to protect us from bad things happening, our brain is stopping us from acting because we might get hurt. And that's the key. It is a basic and very primal self-preservation mechanism that has kept us alive for thousands of years.

 

But the truth is, anytime we do something new, it will be scary. It is so normal. How scared we feel will depend on our past experiences and what kind of person we are. We all experience fear that sometimes manifest itself as self-doubt. The key is to recognise this while being kind to ourselves, dig a bit deeper and decide what we can do to move forward. Working with self-doubt is important so we can move from it. It can have a strong grip on us, not letting us move forward with our goals and vision in life.

 

Don't trust people who promise to teach you how to ditch self-doubt forever. It is wired into who we are as humans. But we can definitely work with it and learn how to unravel layers of it so we can live a more fulfilled life.

Recently on my instagram I have spoken about why it is important to ask ourselves what do we really want. This was one of my biggest lessons that I took away from working with a therapist. For so long I was chasing a vision of me, that wasn't really me.

In one of my previous jobs, I had to constantly travel all over the UK delivering training to tons of people. Some of my colleagues were doing so much better than me, they would walk away from training feeling energised, ready to socialise after work.
