Family Support for Pete Gurule's Passing

Donation protected
Our beloved Pete Gurule was tragically taken from us on the morning of January 18th. He leaves behind his two sons, Quentin (5), Silas (3), his wife Amber Gurule, his Grandmothers, Mother, Sister, two Brothers, Nieces and Nephews and an immense community of adoring friends.

The community is still in a state of shock at this tragic loss and the utter devastation it has had - and will continue to have - on his children and family. We want to help Quentin, Silas and Amber through the difficult days that lie ahead.

Pete Gurule was a 7th generation New Mexican, a husband, father, entrepreneur, accomplished healer, music lover and DJ, and a true friend to many. Pete will be remembered for his genuine, giant hearted kindness, his authentic loving warmth, his playful exuberance for life, his brilliant intelligence. He lived his life in pursuit of enlightenment, knowledge, joy, and connection. Even at a young age, Pete showed a natural proclivity for healing touch and forming meaningful connections with almost everyone he would meet. Pete saw massage as a means to improve our health, well-being, and general happiness. Throughout his life, he has grown his knowledge of the human body while also expanding his spirituality and his understanding of the world and our connection to the universe.

His desire to help others feel better and also to see the benefits of that energy ripple throughout his community - to see us all resonate with wellness in body, heart, mind, and spirit - became the foundation for his business and was at the heart of every interaction he had. His enduring fuel for connection with his community was unparalleled. He had a great ability to both compassionately "meet people where they were" while also seeing the best in them. His empathy, ability to listen, and welcoming and accepting nature allowed Pete to build an expansive network of diverse friends. All of us are joined in our love for Pete and grief from his death.

Pete's life revolved around all of those he brought into it. As a father, that love grew tenfold. His greatest joy was felt in the time he spent with Silas and Quentin. He would find creative ways to contribute to their intellectual, emotional, artistic, and spiritual development and was attentive to their unique needs and abilities. His love for his boys is seen in the many photos he captured during their time together.

On January 18th, Silas & Quentin had the course of their lives changed forever with the senseless murder of their father. Their search for understanding is going to be compounded with intense confusion as they navigate different stages of grief. Life going forward will be very challenging for them emotionally and financially.

We call on our community to contribute to the costs of cremation and memorial services and to a modest financial cushion of stability, food, & care for his children and wife.

No contribution is too small. All is received with deep appreciation & gratitude.
