TRIED AND TRUE

  Dawn Dyson Ministries

Sometimes all God wants you to do is try. Sometimes, no matter how colossal, it is only a “test”.

The Word says we are to test the spirits and often we don’t know until we try a thing if we heard from God correctly or not (1 John 4:1, Matthew 4:1). In this process of walking by faith, we will make mistakes, but when done for God they become beautiful ones (2 Corinthians 5:7; Proverbs 24:16).

As saved souls, we will try ourselves nearly to the breaking point in order to test our limits under God and find that true line of grace. It is often the element of bravery employed to discern God’s voice that IS the success God was after. He will do things with you that cause onlookers. No matter how public the exercise, it is the private lesson that holds great worth to you.

“Purchase from Me refined gold…” (Revelation 3:18).

It is your heart which God’s tests purify. The prize you win for the risk may not be what the world would give—a promotion, fame, prestige, money—because these are only temporary. Of far more value, and use to God, is the character built and fortified on the inside of you. It is ultimately what you are made of that shows.

Never discredit yourself for trying out one of God’s challenges to the very end. Only the people who put it all on the line for God ultimately accomplish His full will for their lives. Be willing to look a fool for God in order to find out what He really wants from you. If your heart is right human judgments and worldly results do not matter, only the glory of the Lord, Whom you live to serve, does.

When you pray, go into your most private room, and closing the door, pray to your Father, Who is in secret, and your Father, Who sees in secret will reward you in the open (Matthew 6:6, AMPCE).

Now [in Haran] the Lord said to Abram, Go for yourself [for your own advantage] away from your country, from your relatives and your father’s house, to the land that I will show you (Genesis 12:1, AMPCE).

For whoever wishes to save his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], but whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake will find it [that is, life with Me for all eternity] (Matthew 16:25, AMP).

Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and have followed You.” Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last, first” (Mark 10:27-31, NASB).
