Hello all you outstanding subscribers and welcome to my April newsletter. The weather continues to provide plenty of opportunity to wear my Kelly Anorak, much to my absolute joy. I just love the pop of yellow it adds to the scene. |

I had an amazing time at the Creative Spirit Retreat with The Avid Seamstress last weekend and share more about this below. |

My review of the Kelly Anorak by Closet Core Patterns is now up on the blog. Lots of details in here including my zip woes, where I sourced the silver hardware which seemed oddly hard to find at the time, and my topstitching regrets. Despite all that, it turned out brilliantly and it has had almost daily wear in the last few weeks. |

I love sewing retreats and workshops, and often attend several of these throughout the year. Last weekend I was at the Creative Spirit Retreat hosted by Lisa Falconer of The Avid Seamstress. I knew it would be something special but it totally exceeded my expectations. It was not only about sewing but also relaxation, self-care and wellbeing. I came back fully refreshed and energised. Click on the video below for a short tour of my time there. |

I made The Blouse pattern in a polka dot cotton, and was really pleased with the result with the help of Lisa's incredible attention to detail. I spent a fair amount of time fitting the blouse prior to the retreat to make the most of my time there. I share my fitting journey with photos of my toiles, having done rounded back and sleeve adjustments. My full review of the pattern itself will follow. |
