  • Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins: This book took me a little too long to finish because I procrastinated but with that being said, I did enjoy this! I loved being transported back into the Hunger Games universe! It was fun reading a prequel and it made me excited for the movie come November. If you were a fan of the of Hunger Games, give this a read. It didn't disappoint.

25 Things I Learned in 25 Years

  1. Change is good. Change is hard

  2. A walk, a run, or going outside can make you feel better

  3. Clear is kind. Unclear is unkind.

  4. You have friends for a season, reason, or a lifetime.

  5. Drink water. Food is fuel. Rest.

  6. Express gratitude. Gratitude unsaid is gratitude wasted. Let people know.

  7. Do the thing that you might be nervous to do. It can change your life.

  8. Don’t worry about being “too much.” If you are, they can go find less.

  9. Create art just because. Good art. Bad art. It doesn’t matter, just do it.

  10. The first time is usually the hardest. If you can do it once, you can most definitely do it again.

  11. Learn and know what you can give to others before you give it.

  12. Sometimes listening is all you need to do. Listen to yourself, your body, others, and what is going on. You will learn a lot and show up better.

  13. Sometimes the solution to a problem is time.

  14. Being a life-long learner is a mindset. It is okay to be wrong when you learn something new.

  15. Sometimes you shouldn’t say sorry.

  16. Talking about “scary” things makes them less scary. Words are power.

  17. No is a complete sentence.

  18. People don’t think about you as much as you think they do.

  19. Find ways to play. Go on a swing. Splash in the water. Dance chaotically. Play.

  20. Therapy is good.

  21. It is okay to ask for help. It is a sign of strength to know your limitations.

  22. It is just as important to know if you like them as it is if they like you. You won’t like everyone and you won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

  23. You can only control yourself. You can’t control other people, their emotions, or the world outside your door. Release your grip.

  24. Your mindset affects the way you interact with the world. If you believe people are inherently good - you will find it.

  25. Love what you love. Love who you love.

  26. BONUS: There are many more things that I’ve learned and a lot more to learn. This is just a time capsule of my mental state right now.
