"Maybees don't fly in June" was a new one to me. But I like it. Apparently, it means "don't be indecisive". I am naturally an indecisive person. I get easily overwhelmed by a variety of options (like on a menu or a in a US grocery store), and find it hard to decide between two equally good options. So I have coping mechanisms to be able to function in the world. I allow myself a small number of options (sometimes the narrowing criteria is arbitrary) and once I have made a decision, I try to stick to it. This is hard work for me, so if someone (usually my husband) comes along and presents a new option, or we have to change something I've decided on, this can make me irritable.
I think that's why I love strategy work so much. When you do the discovery and go through a methodical process to work out the right strategy, the way forward is obvious. It's no longer a matter of juggling options, it's about identifying the next right thing to do. And then you do it, analyze it, and decide what to do next. Rinse and repeat. But if you're having trouble with this process, let me know - I'd love to help!

How to get others in your company to care about your brand
This one is for the beleaguered heads of marketing out there. Sometimes it can be lonely feeling like you're the sole custodian of the brand and that no-one else cares. Here are my thoughts on how to get other people to become as invested as you are.
I love it when a client website goes live. I worked on the brand strategy and copy for this website for my client FilmMed. It was really fun diving into the workings of a small, rural, Colorado hospital and bringing it to life for the people who live there.
Wow, June has been a rollercoaster! I've never seen Colorado so green for so long. I've also never had mosquitos in my garden before. That's due to all the storms we've been having, including all the hail!
We also checked out the mountains of Northern New Mexico, which are my new favorite place to escape to when it gets hot here. Best thing is, you don't have to drive I70! IYKYK.
Now, I can't wait to get up more into the high mountains of Colorado in July. The wildflowers are going to be stunning. Here's a flower from the top of my little table mountain.
