Topic 1 of 6: Destination - The Grand Canyon; Journey - Self discovery |
We just returned from our first annual trip to the Grand Canyon. The trip was spectacular as we spent 3 days and two nights below the rim. The group consensus was that we learned some important lessons: The physical and mental challenges of rigorous hiking builds character. We developed a deeper understanding of what we were capable of. The natural beauty of the setting filled us with awe and a belief that there are unlimited possibilities. There is a sense of transcendency. Sharing this experience with like-minded people allowed us to make deep personal connections that will stay with us for life. This is a bonding experience. Most importantly, the adventure provided the opportunity to gain insights into the world and helps us with our on-going pursuit of self discovery. The experience added to our balance sheets of life.

Topic 2 of 6: Gratitude Salute to Park Rangers everywhere for their support of adventurers |
Over the years, I have interacted with many first-rate park employees. Too many to mention, but here I would like to recognize Ms Mindy Nez, a Park Ranger at Grand Canyon National Park. She was super constructive on our recent visit to the Grand Canyon as she helped us get the perfect permit for our needs. Next time you visit a park, take a minute to thank those who help make these special places available for us to enjoy. They are our ambassadors for the sustainability of the natural places we love.
