Lantern Building Workshops

for A River of Light Lantern Parade

It's almost that time of year again! The annual River of Light Lantern Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 3rd in downtown Waterbury. The theme for this year's parade is 'Marvelous Magic'. This event is made possible by our sponsors: Waterbury Winterfest, The Alchemist, Billings Mobil, and the HUUSD.

The community is invited to participate in a FREE lantern building workshop at Brookside Primary School to make a lantern to carry in the parade. There are two weekends of workshops led by MK Monley, Mame McKee, and Sarah-Lee Terrat:

November 5th and 6th - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Large Scale Lanterns. Previous experience is recommended but not required.

November 12th - 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

New this year - a full day workshop for families for building larger scale lanterns.

November 13th - There are two (separate) simple yet delightful two-hour vellum lantern making workshops; 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.

All workshops are free to attend. However, spaces are limited. Pre-registration is required. Register here.
