New Season This fall

Yes, we had a false start, but we're coming back. Read on for a full update, our new season launch date and more!

DEAR NIGHT OWLS

Dear Night Owls,

The tagline for this show is “stay restless”, and by now many of you are very restless and wondering when you can expect new episodes, so I wanted to take a moment to give you an update.

As most of you know, the show took a hiatus due, in large part, to the COVID epidemic. What you don't know is that I've also been dealing with a serious personal tragedy. These setbacks coupled with financial hurdles, the growing demands of key team members' businesses, and the grueling production schedule of a high-quality podcast like ours, really took a toll.

I've previously mentioned a light at the end of the tunnel and it's drawing nearer. Though it’s been difficult to produce the show under these tough circumstances, I have been hard at work on a brand new season. The Night Owl team has gone on numerous investigations, and I’ve been editing these into episodes that will begin a monthly release on September 26, 2022.

During this time I've been exploring ways to make it a less stressful and more sustainable endeavor.  The Night Owl is my passion and my joy; and with the help of a Podcast Affiliate Representative, I now have a plan that will ensure its future success and growth. The exciting news is that we will be fully sponsored! The less exciting news is that this plan involves completing an entire year’s worth of episodes before we relaunch.  These steps will not only greatly reduce the stress and workload required to meet deadlines, it will bring the monetary support needed to increase our longevity.

I know that all of you have been waiting “restlessly” for more great episodes from the Night Owl. Please know that your patience and loyal support is greatly appreciated. Thank you for understanding that this break has been necessary to the growth and future success of the show.

Mark your calendars for September 26th, we’ll see you then!

CALL TO ACTION FOR MY NIGHT OWLS

Pictured above is us on the only business case we had in 2022 - Dripping Springs, TX - Photo by Christina Vega

Believe or not, one of the biggest challenges I've faced, and why I haven't been able to produce this show on a more efficient schedule, is that we're having trouble securing haunted locations. It seems there's been a huge shift in business availability and willingness to allow us to interview staff, patrons and feature their establishment on the show. We have hundreds of haunted locations we know of in and around the Austin area, however, it's been very challenging gaining any of these haunted locations interest and cooperation to produce an episode. I had six locations fall through the cracks this year alone. Management are short staffed and simply can't manage helping us coordinate an investigation. It seems this is just a part of the times now in this post-pandemic world we live in. So I'm putting it our there in the Night Owl universe that we need good, quality cases at haunted businesses to continue this show! Please reach out to me directly at thenightowlpodcast@gmail.com if you own a business or know someone who owns a business that is experiencing significant activity or has a long history of paranormal activity. Right now, we prefer locations in and around Austin, but we can travel to other parts of Texas. But, if you have a location in another state, we could also do an in-depth campfire story of your haunted establishment with remote interviews! So reach out and start helping us find places that will be willing to work with us so we can keep this show alive!

CITY ALCHEMIST TAKES CRITICS PICK!

Team member and pal Alexis and his partner Eric's shop, City Alchemist, took Critics Pick for Best Shopping in Austin this year! Huge congratulations to them and the wonderful work they do. Not only do they provide an array of spiritual and witchy goods, they also partake in the historical service of fixing, or customizing, candles so they are ready to burn for intended purpose with no additional prepwork.  Browse their amazing selection of goods, grab a candle, and you can snag some Night Owl merch there and save on shipping if you're local!  City Alchemist, where the witches go to shop.
