WHAT DOES MULTI-GENERATIONAL MEAN TO US?
Adams Creek Cohousing is a multi-generational community, established to experience the richness of life shared together...a life well shared is a life well lived!
We believe that children are integral and important members of our community. We currently have several families with children ranging in age from 3-15. In order to encourage more families, our Community Diversity Circle is working hard to secure funding to subsidize a unit for a family that could not otherwise afford to own a home.
We are working with the Columbia Cascade Housing Corporation, a non-profit affiliated with the Mid-Columbia Housing Authority.
We know from research and talking to other cohousing communities that children benefit from a diversified community. There is a wealth of experience, talent, and energy to share, and children keep some of us older residents young. Some of us are very excited about playing grandparent to these youngsters. During COVID, classes have been held for our youngsters encouraging reading, math, art, nature and music as well as many hikes into the hills to explore. Above are photos of our children taking full advantage of all that the Columbia River Gorge area has to offer. So as you can see, we take multi-generational seriously because it is FUN!!!! And having fun is serious business to us.
