Hi everyone! I have a lot of doodles in this newsletter and news about a serious drawing incident. Recently I called doodling a fun and safe activity. I was wrong! Find out what happened in the doodle below. (I am ok and won't let it stop me). This week I also completed my Hanukkah collaboration with an artist I met online who lives in France. Everything was going très bien til I tried to be cute and put our flags in a video. Turns out the French flag and Russian flag look a lot alike. OOPS. Stay tuned for another collaboration soon with Caroline Cooke, another marketer and comic I met at a networking event last year. We're both American so there is less room for error. I also doodled about a COVID Christmas, snow, my favorite cozy stuffed animals (a couple are good gifts if you're still looking), and self-care tips from a cartoon. Enjoy! |

The hazards of my new hobby |
It was an innocent weekday evening. I was painting with my new water-based Arteza markers. I was too lazy to get up and fill a cup with water, so I turned my water glass into a paint glass. Then I forgot and took a sip. AH! I posted about it on Instagram and Arteza replied and ensured me that they are non-toxic, phew! Then I thought about the other dangerous downsides of doodling. (Number 4 isn't dangerous but space is becoming a serious issue in my small Brooklyn apartment.) Don't worry, I will persevere! I won't stop doodling. |

The 9 types of people celebrating Hanukkah |
I was struggling creatively this holiday. But then, I teamed up with another (better) artist, Alice, who I connected with on Instagram. We each drew the "types" of people celebrating Hanukkah (I think it's obvious who did what!) Alice said she's the one who's enthusiastic about the holiday, I'm the chef or the Shamash. This year, I'm not much of anything, but I did light the candles and make some latkes from a box kit I had in the kitchen. For 2020, I think that's a lot! See video version here! |

Santa is a comin' — on zoom! |
I drew this doodle for a card about a month ago. To be honest, things have been so busy that I never got it printed professionally. But I tested it on my home printer and gave it to a friend. Maybe I'll make cards in time for next Christmas. Also, Zoom Santa is a thing! I saw it on CBS Sunday morning after I drew this! It's very sweet, and we can just add it to the growing list of things that make me cry right now. |

Happy first snow to the East Coast! |
I loved experiencing the snowstorm this week! I thought it was the perfect opp to show off this snowball/pandemic-inspired bday card I made a few weeks ago. We posed in the snow in my little backyard. We were just waiting for this day! (Message me if you want some of these!) |

A tribute to the stuffed animals keeping me company in these hard times, and their origin stories |
A long quarantine means that I've been more affectionate with stuffed animals than people, so I need to recognize my cuddly companions. If you are looking for a gift, you can't go wrong with a warmie. A friend's mom got them for her whole apartment, which started the trend of giving warmies in my own friend group. They come in so many varieties and are great for pain, especially cramps. My dad got me the huggie recently. It's adorable and perfect for COVID times. And yes, I glued cotton ball to it for the full effect. (I cannot find a link for it, he got it at Century21). Below is my happy little family. |

A lot of you have been asking about my skin care routine |
OK, no one asked for it. But my doodle alter-ego is on her way to becoming a social media influencer so she couldn't help but share! I hope it helps you have a relaxing Sunday evening. |
