Take the path

Our mission is to provide space for those seeking hope, comfort and peace as they explore ways of experiencing God’s love.

Dear Friends,

  We're set.

Oh sure, we'll tweak here and there, but for the most part, our new space is freshly painted, furnished and ready for you.

We're working on signs to lead the way, but for now the literal path to our new place is behind St. Francis Episcopal Church, 1101 Rock Prairie Rd., College Station. Park in their lot, walk to the right of the church building and follow the path that wraps around the office building first to the left then back to the right!

Our regular programs are starting back up so check the schedule below.

Friday Meditation and Mindfulness

Center yourself and find peace in the midst of your busy life. Friday Meditation and Mindfulness, led by Becky Burks, meets monthly at 12:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11.

Brazos Valley Gives - OCT. 15!

Because of your generosity, we continue to provide a free space of peace, comfort and hope to all seekers in the area.

As we move into our 4th year, we want to grow in relationship with you. We'd like to hear what is most meaningful for you and what other topics in spirituality you'd like to explore.

And if you are inclined to help us continue this monastery, consider participating in our Brazos Valley Gives campaign. Even if it is just $10, it all adds up. Your contributions are what keep us open.

Here's how to give straight to the monastery :

Brazos Valley Gives for Middleway. You can do it now or any time through Oct. 15.

Book Club

We will gather next on Oct. 15. The book will be The Bandit Queens by Parini Shroff.

We hope you can come in person, but if you'd like to join us by Zoom, here's the way:

Spirituality of Breadmaking:

Welsh Cakes

Mark your calendars for the third Spirituality of Breadmaking event for 2024 - Welsh Cakes. We'll gather Saturday, Nov. 23, 9:30-11:30 a.m. This is a traditional bread that is perfect for holiday gatherings. And our tradition is to make a bread that is quick at the busy time of year. Registration will start later, so save the date.

Spiritual directors lend a (holy) ear at Middleway

A team of spiritual companions whose ministry is to listen to you with a holy ear are the backbone of Middleway. One of us can meet with you monthly in a non-judging atmosphere as you discern where God is in your life. We actively listen without trying to "fix" you. It's powerfully healing. See www.middlewayurbanmonastery.org/spiritual-direction. or email us at info@middlewayurbanmonastery.org for more information.

How to experience the monastery

Attend any of our programs for sure. But also know the monastery is also open weekdays Tuesday-Friday and some evenings, Saturdays or Sundays for you to come use the library, art area, or various sitting areas in a relaxing atmosphere where no one will bug you. Children are welcome to come with an adult.

We need you!

Three hours a month, week, or day. Regular or now-and-then. You pick what's convenient for you to volunteer and help welcome others into this peaceful place. We are 100 percent volunteer operated, and you can make a meaningful impact just be being present.

To sign up, please come by the monastery or email info@middlewayurbanmonastery.org.
