Community members and City Schools of Decatur (CSD) personnel partnered to write a US Department of Energy grant and CSD was one of only 25 school districts in the US that won the Energy Class Prize Grant. CSD will receive $100,000, along with coaching and skills development from professionals who will help our school district make critical clean energy and health improvements. Decatur Cares About Climate partnered in the application process. |

If you want to know why the new proposed standards are so important, you can read here and/or watch this short video from a prominent medical journal about how current standards are not strict enough; for example, air pollution at current standards is associated with a higher risk of death in older adults. |
