LOOKING FOR ART DONATIONS

The 100 Children’s Foundation is a philanthropic organization that raises money for children’s charities. This year the theme for their silent auction is "ART".

They are interested in having LAA members donate art pieces for auction at their November 15 Cocktail Party at The Landings Palmetto Club.

If you're interested in donating, please contact either Kathi Siegel 614-226-5527 or Bonnie Kelly 303-249-2127. All donations must be received by November 1. They will be more than happy to pick up the pieces. Tax slips for your donations will be available.

I hope everyone will take advantage of this worthwhile opportunity to showcase your work and help a great cause.

COCKTAIL RECEPTION

On Thursday evening, October 6 from 5 PM to 6:30 PM our Artist of the 

Month Gallery at the Palmetto Club will once again be hosting its regular monthly cocktail reception!

This month we'll be featuring a wonderful selection of art and jewelry by Cyndi Pollack and Leslie Fitzgerald.

Also, check out a brand-new display of artworks in our LAA/Sound View Member Gallery.

JIM GUERARD

Long-time LAA Member, Jim Guerard splits his efforts between the low country and exotic locations around the world. His priority away from the low country is collecting images intended to stir awareness and offer glimpses of elements in nature and distant cultures that are rapidly changing, and in some cases at risk of disappearing entirely.

Our season opening General Membership Meeting is the ideal way to catch up with friends and meet some of our newest members.

Meet and Greet: 6:30-7 pm

Short Business Meeting: 7-7:15 pm

Guest Speaker: 7:15 pm on

NOTE: Due to a lack of participation. our General Membership Meetings will be held three times per year - October, January, and May. If we see that participation increases, the Board will consider reinstating these meetings back onto our calendar.

LAA/Sound View Virtual Gallery

And don't forget...participation in our Virtual Gallery will benefit those of you who do not have the opportunity to accumulate the 6 volunteer hours necessary to become an Artist of the Month. One volunteer hour will be awarded for every 2 pieces of art entered into the challenge. Maximum hours that can be used in this way towards the AOM requirement are 3 (6 posts).

Member Acknowledgements

Congratulations to LAA member Iris Dayoub, whose painting has been accepted for inclusion in the Southeastern Pastel Society “All About Pastel” National Juried Exhibition!

Congratulations to Jim Guerard whose image "Elephant Walk" was awarded second place in the Nature-Wildlife Category at The International Photography Awards in New York City. He previously received a first and third place award in various other categories at The IPA within the past three years.
