Martha's House of Hope Happenings |
Martha's House of Hope is currently housing one mom and baby. With the pandemic lightening we have been able to do some fun outings such as going to the local mall, having a movie night and swimming at a local pool. Socializing tends to help our mom at the house feel more connected with society while caring for a newborn! |

We appreciate everyone that helps to make Martha’s House of Hope a home for pregnant women, moms and babies. Our volunteers are incredible! They have completed approximately 1,700 volunteer hours this year already. Tasks they have helped with include overnight duty, babysitting, donation sorting, landscaping and so much more! In this newsletter we would like to highlight our appreciation for the things that have been done to beautify our yard and porch. We have several volunteers that have come to Martha's to remove snow, pick up sticks, mow, landscape, and purchase porch furniture. Last year we had one volunteer begin the project of landscaping and this spring another volunteer completed the project. This particular volunteer also comes daily to water the plants and new grass and she stays overnight about twice a month! Thank you, Christine and to all of our volunteers! Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering. |

GIVING OPPORTUNITY For the second year in a row, Martha’s House of Hope is participating in the Gannett Foundation's A Community Thrives campaign. A Community Thrives is a program that supports community improvement ideas with grants up to $100,000. To qualify for a grant, Martha's House of Hope needs to meet a fundraising goal of $3,000 in four weeks. If we are able to raise $3,000 between July 19-August 13 we can qualify for grants up to $100,000! Last year we raised $4,335 and received a $2,500 grant from A Community Thrives. We also were fortunate to raise a lot of awareness for Martha’s House of Hope through news releases about this grant. We will send out another email and post on our Facebook page when the fundraising begins. |
