Greetings, friends! Summer energy is bursting here for me in California. I’m so grateful for the beautiful times I’ve had with family and friends on both coasts, in the California wilderness, and eating delicious fruit. I had a special experience attending my first Let my People Sing retreat, back at the Jewish farm community in Connecticut where I lived and learned for several months in 2018. The summer burst is also reflected in the fact that I’m… pregnant! My partner and I are incredibly grateful to have this prayer answered, especially after we got the opportunity to connect with the world, each other, and ourselves on our nine-month travel journey. We’re grappling with the fact that this is the start to a new journey that will change our lives forever, in ways we mostly can’t prepare for. What does it mean to bring a child into a world that perpetuates so much pain and has so many unknowns and likely instability ahead? How can we create a nest and community that supports this being to come with deep, grounded love and positive values? I’m also reflecting a lot on the ways this will affect my identity, relationships, time, and work. This is why I’m happy to be hosting this Affinity Group for Expecting and New Mama Entrepreneurs! I’ve invited several friends who are entrepreneurs I look up to and have been through the new motherhood journey in the past few years: Devon Davey, Meredith Rom, and Alicia Ross. Shout out to my friend Jess Wass- another amazing career coach and organizational development consultant who inspired me to hold this session. You’re welcome to join us in this rich conversation, and to share with friends. REGISTER HERE! |

My pregnancy means that I will be slowing down my work commitments in late November, so please reach out if you’d like to do any work together before then. I’m also available to discuss potential collaborations for next Spring. Amidst all the summer energy, there’s also been the continued devastation of what’s happening in Palestine and Israel, amongst other hurting places in the world, the build up to the election, and more. Many of us who live in safety and privilege grapple with how to feel both the joys and still remain connected to all the pain and work there is to be done. I wanted to remind you of the talk I held back in March with powerful speakers from Israel and Palestine, which illuminated some hope for people being able to listen to one another’s truths, and to work on stopping and healing historical and current injustices. My Israeli friend Rotem (who was a panelist at my March event) is currently touring the U.S. and Canada with his Palestinian friend Osama, and they’re offering incredible speaking engagements you won’t want to miss. If you have interest in helping them organize an event in your city or others where you have connections, please let me know! |
