Constipation Behind the Scenes |
Ever wondered what’s going on behind the scenes when you’re facing a traffic jam in your digestive system? Essentially, the muscles and microscopic structures inside of your intestinal tract are spackled with decomposing waste material that lacks the emulsive power to move easily through the pipeline. As a result, the 70% of your immune system that is housed inside becomes smothered and immobilized, the 30 neuro-chemicals that communicate between the gut and the brain become sluggish, and surrounding structures (such as low back nerves and large blood vessels) become pressurized which all result in potentially serious secondary health concerns (i.e. hypertension, stroke & sciatica to name a few). For these reasons, it’s important to keep things moving! |

Top Tips for a Smooth Ride |
Fiber Fiesta- Load up on fiber-rich foods like ph-balanced fruit (berries, melons, apples, pears to name a few), veggies (chard, turnip greens, squash, garbanzo beans) and grains (basmati or black wild rice, spelt, kamut, rye). They pass easily through the gut, and they’re like the superheroes of digestion, swooping in to save the day! Hydration Station- Drink plenty of spring or mineral water. Your digestive system is like a thirsty garden that needs a good watering to keep things moving. Move that Booty- Physical activity is your digestive system’s best friend. Take a stroll, do a little dance, or strike a yoga pose. Your gut will thank you! Have a constipation tale of triumph or a remedy that works like magic? Send them our way! We’ll feature the best (and funniest) stories in our next edition. Remember, the Constipation Chronicle is all about keeping things light and informative. Share the laughs, share the remedies, and let’s keep the conversation flowing (or not)!
