OCTOBER 2023 UPDATES FROM STUDIO HROMI |
This email is being sent out a bit later in the month than usual, because my attention has been split in a lot of different directions lately. And because my mind is in several places at once even at this very moment, I don't have much to say up top. But I do have a cool project to feature! Just the other day I received a copy of a textbook I contributed to last year, Clinical Kinesiology and Biomechanics by Gordon Alderink and Blake Ashby. This was a large project that I was brought onto rather late in the process, and I inadvertently ended up acting as the lead illustrator on the project, overseeing three other artists and managing our collective workload. This project was stressful. But my illustrations don't often get published (or if they are, they're in a format that I don't end up seeing), so receiving a copy of this book genuinely made my week. |

At the close of ArtPrize, I was graciously invited to have my entry displayed at PostPrize, an exhibit hosted by Frames Unlimited at their 28th St location. If you missed out on seeing my work at ArtPrize, come see it at PostPrize! My entry and the entries of 30+ other ArtPrize artists will be on display during normal hours of operation at Frames Unlimited until November 19. |

I restocked everything a couple weeks ago at studiohromi.com/shop (especially the prints of Grand Rapids buildings, if you missed out on one of your favorites at Eastown Streetfair last month). Other items of note include some new mini notebooks, a few fresh collages, and a two new anatomy pun greeting card designs (such as the sympathy card featured here). | | |

LOOKING BACK AT PREVIOUS OCTOBER DAILY DRAWINGS |
I'm intentionally not participating in any daily drawing challenges this month, e.g. Inktober, Drawtober, Arttober, etc. I simply don't have the energy for it! But I've enjoyed looking back through previous years (2019, 2020, and 2022), all of which followed the SciArtInk prompt lists provided by Learn Medical Art. See some favorites below. |

Keep an eye out for updates at studiohromi.com/events as I gradually add holiday markets to the calendar. You can also shop online at studiohromi.com/shop and while supplies last at the Grand Rapids Public Museum Curiosity Shop and Scorpion Hearts Club, both in Grand Rapids, MI. As always, Instagram is the best way to keep up with all of my goings-on and behind-the-scenes goodies, but you can follow me on any of the platforms below, plus TikTok, Tumblr, and Threads. |
