Recap: UConn OLLI class FLUSH had a great time teaching 10 retirees about global sanitation through the University of Connecticut's OLLI program in a class titled, "Lessons From the History of Toilets". Participants learned about ancient toilets, using poo for farms, and public spaces. It was a 5-week course, and our first time doing it in person! |

Organics Summit Recap This month, we went to the NYSAR's Organics Summit! There, we learned more about composting different kinds of organic waste and how it can tie into toilets by integrating it with biosolids. We also got to see a municipal composting facility that composted lawn waste, trees, leaves, and food scraps! Our favorite part of the tour was the steaming coming off the compost and that one compost heap had a street name - Scrap Pile! |
