Whatever your Spanish-learning background, this class will focus on building vocabulary sets that empower communication and partnership. A CHILD NEEDS YOU! Our mentoring program with local schools was put on hold during the pandemic, but we're gearing up to get started again this fall. Creative Mentoring provides the needed training for you to make a difference in a child's life. Mentoring involves only half an hour to an hour once a week with a child who may be in need of only a caring adult to listen, play games, talk to or help with school work or organizational skills. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, email Candy Dunson. If we have 3 or more new mentors, we can arrange for the training to be done as a group at our church this fall. |

GIFTS OF LOVE Well, sports fans, we are in the 3rd quarter and our chances for a win are looking good. In the first half, we achieved 89% of our goal and donated $3,200 of our $3,600 commitment to our neighbors in need. But, we can't take our eyes off the ball. We must continue to press an aggressive offense to raise the remaining $400 of our pledge for the year. Will we go into overtime? Will we lose? Will we win? Will you be the one to take us into the end zone? We can do this! |
Thanks to the MVPs who have contributed thus far and who, hopefully, will continue to do so. Look for your white Gifts of Love envelopes in the pews. If you are donating perishable goods to St. Peter's Food Pantry, please be sure to check expiration dates. |
EMMANUEL DINING ROOM - BROWNIES! Each month, NCPC offers freshly made brownies for our EDR neighbors. Donate boxes of brownie mix or bake a batch at the start of the month. Contact Liz Parziale to receive the reminder at the end of each month - brownies are due to the church kitchen by the 6th! |

SYMPATHY The sympathy of the congregation surrounds the loved ones of Carlo Viola ("Corky"), who died to this life at the age of 79 on Wednesday, September 21, at Kutz Senior Living. A Service of Witness to the Resurrection and a Celebration of Corky’s Life will be on Sunday, October 23 at 1:00 p.m. in the NCPC meeting house. The service will be livestreamed and overflow seating will be available in the Christian Education Building. A reception will follow at Penn Farm, 807 Frenchtown Rd E, New Castle, DE 19720. Click here for full obituary. The sympathy of the congregation surrounds the loved ones of Mary Pratt, who died to this life at the age of 97 on Tuesday, September 27, in New York. Mary and her husband, Herb, joined NCPC in 2000, and she served as an Elder, Deacon, Pastor Nominating Committee and was active with Noon Circle. A native of Georgia, Mary's southern accent and gracious hospitality remained through her years in Delaware. As a High School Science teacher, Mary was an avid learner herself, sharing a great curiosity with Herb for the many wonders of God's wonderful creation. We give thanks that for Mary, suffering has passed and that she now rests in Christ's peace. May the Holy Spirit comfort the Pratt family, including Mary's surviving children, Allison and Warren. We will share Mary's obituary and service information as it is available |
