#SmallActs Huddle Stories: October 2021

The Bethlehem Select board voted to become a Small Acts Community in September 2021. To do this they included in a municipal resolution:

Small Acts Standard of Care

We seek all viewpoints willing to hold these standards.

  • Respect each other's perspectives. We all bring something to the table.

  • Reach beyond what you think is possible.

  • Celebrate all successes.

  • Learn from failed attempts.

  • Listen to all voices without judgement, be curious, and share what you learn.

  1. We are a community that believes that our strength is based in the kindness we show to one another

  2. We believe that a helping community is a happy community

  3. No act of generosity is too small or inconsequential to count - every act matters

Halloween cards were handmade by Berlin Elementary School students and each goodie bag contained a few sweet treats to celebrate the season.

In total we have 55 bags to hand out to community members.

Simple reminders are sometimes all we need to lift our spirits. #Small Acts don't have to be tangible. A little kind note can go a long way.

NorthStar students and volunteers have been hard at work this summer! As a group, NorthStar has completed over 30 hours of community service in the Edible Bethel, ME garden on High St. and on the future site of the Summer Street Community Garden in Bethel. NorthStar worked to grow, maintain, harvest, and deliver the produce from the garden to roughly 25 senior citizens in the Bethel area.Fresh veggies

Upper Androscoggin

At Old Home Days, students distributed postcards and sweets to people in attendance. The school plans to do something for Veteran's Day in November.

Stay tuned for more #SmallActs updates this year.
