Spring has sprung. Hooray for another beautiful season! Longer days, new growth, and more sunshine. Even though outside is much more inviting, we still have work & responsibilities, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy it! In this newsletter, I'll address occupational wellness and how to enjoy what we do, and find greater balance in your work and leisure. Let's get into it! |

What is Occupational Wellness? |
Occupational wellness is health around your work, your work relationships, and the fulfillment you get from work. It involves incorporating our unique strengths, talents, skills, and values in our work and career choice. It is about developing relationships with coworkers, finding work and leisure balance, and addressing work-related stress. It encourages us to pursue a career with opportunities that we enjoy the most. Whether you're a stay-at-home parent, a full-time shift worker, university student, medical professional, or hair stylist, occupational wellness is a dimension that we can all benefit from. |
Occupational wellness, like the other dimensions of wellness, play an important part in completing the wellness wheel. Without it, we miss out on fully thriving and feel unbalanced. Work, school, or career goals can consume a large part of our lives, often most of our week. When this is addressed in a mindful, healthy way, we can find gratification and fulfillment in our work, no matter the task. This also contributes to overall satisfaction and well-being. |
