We hope you were blessed and challenged by the powerful testimony of our speaker, Dr. Anthony Levatino. We are so grateful that he agreed to come to our small community to share his story with us.
As a former abortion provider, he was able to explain the raw, heartbreaking details of his previous vocation while sharing his personal testimony and experience.
During his career, he aborted roughly 10 children a week but it wasn't until his own wife began to struggle with infertility that he began to process the irony of his life. He started to wish he could take one of his patient's babies home instead of proceeding with the abortion.
After some time, the Levatinos were able to adopt a daughter and shortly after had a son. His children distracted him from his earlier convictions and he continued with his career. It wasn't until his daughter was tragically killed in a car accident that he again questioned his profession.
He immediately quit performing late-term abortions but continued to do early abortions for several months he said until “I began to feel like a paid assassin. That’s exactly what I was….So I quit."
"You start to realize this is somebody’s child. I lost my child, someone who was very precious to us. And now I am taking somebody’s child and I am tearing him right out of their womb. I am killing somebody’s child."
He strongly reminded us that we cannot allow our own comfort in life to distract us from what we know to be wrong. Truth is truth, regardless of whether we chose to believe it or not. He challenged us to live knowing that we each have a unique purpose and part to play in advocating for life.
