April 2023

Spring Sewing

Hello all you marvellous subscribers and welcome to my April newsletter (just about!). Here in the UK, Spring is taking its time to arrive but I'm OK with that because it means I get to wear my finished Sienna Maker Jacket for longer. It has been a busy month with a mixed bag of blog posts.

New blog posts

My Sienna Maker Jacket is complete and I'm so proud of the result. A huge factor in my success was joining Lynda Maynard's 8 week online course, and I would certainly consider another of her courses given how much I learnt. I just published a bumper blog post with lots of details and photos.

I didn't think there was much to get excited about when it came to pins and needles, until I tried these - they just glide through fabric.

I attended a weekend workshop at Bristol fabric store Like Sew Amazing, to get a jumpsuit pattern fitted. I chose the Zadie by Paper Theory and came away with a great fitting pattern, and some insights on my own fitting issues.

Work in progress

I'm currently working on the Heather Blazer by the Friday Pattern Company, having started it on a workshop with Claire Tyler last month. More on this next month.
