Gooood Morning, Canyon Camp!
Last summer we decided to “Try Something New in 2022”, and found great success in carrying on the rich traditions and history we have built over 86 summers at Canyon Camp while also taking the opportunity to reflect and build for the future.
This summer we have agreed that Canyon Camp is “The Place to Be in 2023!" Assistant Camp Director Alex Kloepping, Program Director Andrew Nestler, and I are very excited to serve the more than 1,000 Scouts and Scouters that will come through our front gate this summer with an experienced Camp Staff ready to have fun doing so!
New merit badges, a reimagined OWL program, and a refreshed Leader Training program, these are aspects you'll enjoy during your week of memories to last a lifetime on the banks of Coon Creek! Be sure you or your Scouts are signed up today as Camp continues to fill.
To the parents and alumni or friends unable to camp with us this year, you are encouraged to join us for Visitors' Night on Wednesdays this summer to get your fill of the ‘Spirit of Canyon Camp’ and to see what fun the Scouts are having! Please join us on either June 21st, June 28th, July 5th, July 12th, or July 19th!
In the meantime, we have some exciting events happening at Canyon Camp prior to our five weeks of Scouts BSA camping and one weekend of Webelos overnight camp. Please bring your talents and time to the Monroe Kiwanis Work Weekend Saturday, May 6-7, or join us for a weekend of fellowship and service at the Wulapeju Lodge Spring Fellowship starting Friday, June 2-4.
The ‘Spirit of Canyon Camp’ lives on, in part due to the amazing support we receive from our community. Thank you for all that you do, and we hope to see you for a very *Zip Zip* summer!
Yours in Scouting,
Seth Kannarr
Camp Director
