Tally Ho Chap Dispatches

(20 December)

Happy Christmas Chaps.

Just wanted to let you all know that we will be taking a small break over the Xmas/New year period as I take a bit of downtime from the store and rejuvenate with a few good books to finally finish reading.

As we look back on the past year the website data states that we have had traffic from over 130 different countries with the top five countries being:

  1. Australia

  2. United Kingdom

  3. United States

  4. New Zealand

  5. Netherlands

Closer to home it has been great to catch up with visitors to the store and engage as Chaps share their passions of Military History. Such a passion that I am discovering has such a breadth attached to it and regardless of your nationality, there is a connection to everyone.

Enjoy what's in your stockings this Christmas and don't forget to ask Santa to drop in a few Tally Ho Chap Gift Cards that you can spend in our new year sale...

New Items In The Store

Over The last month, we have updated a few collections with new stock including new Military artwork, Commando Comics, DVDs, and Military History books. We have also come across a collection of very rare books from the U.S. Civil War written from the 1880s that go into every detail imaginable from the various accounts of the Union and Confederate sides that fought against each other. Discover these books here...

A new magazine collection this month comes from Purnell's Illustrated Encylopedia Of Modern Weapons and Warfare.

Its contributors and editors included Bill Gunston (aviation), Ian V. Hogg (land weapons), John Batchelor (illustrations) and editor Bernard Fitzsimons. The quality of these lead contributors ensured high quality and accuracy in the finished product.

The publication covers the twentieth century to publication, in alphabetical order, in 125 volumes. Levels of detail varied from a short paragraph to several pages of technical and operational analysis.

Discover the collection here...

The website has now a subscriber section for those Chaps who want a bit more insight into Military History. You can find this option here at The Collectors Corner

We are currently looking for Chaps to write about and share your own Military History collections. You have full control and can decide how much you want to charge per subscriber and what you want to share. We will of course plug your insights and market the posts to our growing community.

Included this month we see a great post written by 'Biggles' on German Cigarettes and the intriguing anti-smoking policies of the Third Reich. Can't show you too much but there are a few examples below from his collection that he shared with his subscribers.

Once again please get in touch with us at tallyhochap@outlook.com if you would like to be a part of this exciting new aspect of Tally Ho Chap.

Don't forget we are building up quite a database of free war movies on the website for your holiday viewing so pop in and catch up with a classic.

The store will be open this coming Saturday and then will be closed for a couple of weeks.

Enjoy your holiday reading Chaps.
