Week 3 RISING STARS

Lets give it up for our Week #3 RISING STARS!

Three games deep, and RISING STAR Cannon Cole has found his groove as he earns this week's award in the K-2 Division! Cannon’s improvement from the beginning of the year through the halfway mark has been impressive to his coaches. With the help of hard working and supportive teammates, Cannon accounted for two long touchdown runs and had a great defensive effort for the Bears in a week 3 win. Great job, Cannon! The undefeated Bears take on the Jets in week 4 action.

In crunch time, on 3rd down and 1 yard to go, the Texans needed a big offensive play. They went to Addalyn Smith, who is no longer a secret weapon, she's a RISING STAR. Facing a two score deficit to an undefeated Lions team, Addalyn secured a huge first down on a catch that put the Texans in position for a score, the big comeback and 25-24 upset.

"She was a big part in our kids not quitting and continuing to fight," said Coach Larry Henderson. "Without that 3rd down conversion the game was over. She has continued to get better each week with catching and running in practice," he said.

The Texans face another team hungry for a win this weekend in the Giants!

Gordy Freed shined bright in week 3 as the 5th-6th Grade RISING STAR! From the game's opening play, Gordy displayed his play-making ability on both sides of the ball for the Colts with electric speed. He made outstanding defensive plays breaking up passes along with multiple touchdowns. His highlight of the night came on a touchdown catch where he elevated high and snatched the ball out of the air at it's highest point - a beautiful throw and catch! The 2-1 Colts look to keep the streak alive in week 4 against the Dolphins.

No shock here, the Raiders secure their second RISING STAR winner in 3 weeks of play. The team has looked unbeatable and continues to show off their depth of play makers - this week highlighted by the effort of Maddox Cline! Maddox had 5 interceptions and 4 touchdowns in round-robin action where his play oozed with confidence! The Raiders will rely on more big play from Maddox and their exceptional group of athletes in the second half of the season.
