From the Director's Desk.....

Esther’s Place of Grace has been open for one year as of August 1, 2022. We not only have safe, supportive housing for single pregnant and parenting women in crisis pregnancies, but daily, we minister to women spiritually, physically, and emotionally in a home environment. We teach, we learn, we share, we love and we cry together. We have done Bible studies, taught cooking skills, given baby showers, held Embrace Grace sessions, and provided transportation to church, work, school and Heartbeats -where our residents participate in parenting classes.

At just the right time, God provided another house for the ministry. A generous donor from California contacted me offering to help with housing. Our starter home was the perfect place for our first year, but we needed room to grow and live with our mamas and babies! We like to believe that God worked a miracle! We are now in a beautiful split-level house that is twice the size of our previous location and it’s on a very quiet street!

We have babies coming… one is due any day now and another in December. Please remember Katie in your prayers for a safe delivery and a healthy baby boy.

Would you like to provide a meal for the household after baby comes? A nutritious meal would be a big help and encouragement.

Recently, we had to say an unexpected goodbye to our dear friend, Andrew Lange. He was very supportive of the maternity home ministry. He was a generous donor and helped us with safety and security during fundraising events. Many of his dear friends and family donated to Esther’s Place of Grace in Andrew’s memory. Thank you for supporting us!

New Faces

Hello Carmen

Carmen is our new house manager hired in June of 2022. Carmen's influence and presence has been such a blessing to Esther's Place of Grace as she guides the weekday activities and flow of the home. Carmen's background is in Christian education and she graduated from Grace College with a BA in Graphic arts and Art studies. Carmen and her husband, have raised 2 children. Carmen and Carey attend a small congregation - Grace Brethren in Jacksontown OH - and live on a farm.

Besides overseeing daily management of the activities at the house, Carmen's presence strikes a gentle balance of caring and compassionate counsel with wise mentorship for the young ladies living at Esther's Place. In the days to come, her mothering experience will be invaluable with a newborn expected to arrive at any time. The house manager is a major key to the success of a maternity home program like Esther's Place of Grace, and we consider ourselves so fortunate and blessed to have Carmen on board to fill this important role.
