NEWS FROM DR. REID

Dear St. Patrick Families,

Welcome back! It has been a great start to the new school year. We’ve jumped right into learning. In STEM the students completed a challenge of building the tallest tower with their shoes. The students then used their math skills to measure height, width, and compare and contrast the measurements of the various towers. Mrs. Tivnan stated, “it was so much stinking fun.”

As we start the new school year, here is a reminder of who to contact:

Jaime Arigoni, our front office receptionist and attendance secretary,  jrarigoni@stpatrickschool.net, if your child will miss a day of school or will leave early for an appointment. Also contact her if you have any changes to transportation, including early pick-up or going home with a friend, etc. If you have any changes to your email or phone number or need school forms, she can assist. If you are unsure of who to contact, she will put you in touch with the correct person.

**As a reminder, if you have scheduled an early dismissal for your child, they should be picked up by 2:15pm.  After this time, they will be dismissed with the carpool students.**

Kristin Robbins, our administrative assistant, kkrobbins@stpatrickschool.net regarding the school newsletter, to schedule a tour, and any general school-level questions.

Contact your child’s classroom and special area teachers for questions regarding academic progress and classroom related questions.

Remember to join us for our Back to School Picnic tonight, 8/25/2022 at 6pm on the blacktop.

Friendly reminder, all school Mass tomorrow, Friday, 8/26/2022, students must be in their mass uniform. Parents will be called if child(ren) is not in mass uniform to bring in corrected items.

God's Blessings,

Dr. Alicia Reid

WALKER DISMISSAL PROCEDURE

If your child will be a walker this year at any point, be sure to select "walker" as one of the options on our Online Form (below).  This form states that your family must live within walking distance of the school (no more than 1 mile away) and as parents you understand that your child will be escorted out of the building and expected to walk home without supervision. For safety reasons we will not allow students to be walkers if you do not live within a reasonable walking distance of the school, no more than one mile.

Walkers will still continue to enter the gym in the morning as in years past. In the afternoon, walkers will be released out the door nearest the first grade classrooms which exits near the Family Life Center. A staff member will walk students to the Family Life Center area at which point they will continue to walk home.  If a parent will meet the child to walk with them, they should plan to meet their child on the sidewalk between the church rectory and the Family Life Center. Families will not be permitted to play on the playground after school due to carpool traffic.  Parking is not permitted in the rectory parking lot under any circumstance.
