Natural Gas Hz Rig Comparison

 

The last time gas prices sustained over $3.5 for 60 days was in 2014. At that 60-day point, there were 256 active gas-directed horizontal rigs. That is 166 higher than the latest report. 

 

Of particular note, every gas play is down over 50% except the Haynesville formation, which is UP 7%.

Cabot, Cimarex shareholders approve merger to create oil & gas giant

Sept 29 (Reuters) - Shareholders of Cabot Oil & Gas Corp (COG.N) and Cimarex Energy Co (XEC.N) on Wednesday approved the proposed merger between the two companies to form one of the largest U.S oil and gas firms. The merger, which was announced in May and pegged the enterprise value of the combined entity at about $17 billion, brings together Cabot's gas-rich Marcellus shale positions in the U.S.

PennEast Gas Project Halted in Latest U.S. Pipeline Casualty (2)

A $1 billion project to haul natural gas from Pennsylvania to New Jersey has become the latest casualty of opposition to pipelines across the U.S. PennEast Pipeline Co., a joint venture of five companies including Southern Co. and Enbridge Inc., halted development on the proposed 116-mile (187-kilometer) conduit after failing to receive water-quality certification and other wetland permits for the New Jersey section.

Record operating costs are slowing the U.S. shale drilling revival

By David Wethe on 9/29/2021 HOUSTON (Bloomberg) --America's oil producers are boosting output at a slower place as record costs hammer the shale patch, according to a survey of industry executives. Out of 47 responding companies that supply producers with everything from software to workers, just one reported lower input costs in the third quarter, according to a report released Wednesday by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

AltaRock Energy Initiates Development of First SuperHot Rock Geothermal Resource

SEATTLE--()--AltaRock Energy today announced the results of a path-breaking comprehensive technical and economic feasibility study, completed in collaboration with Baker Hughes, an energy technology company, and the University of Oklahoma, demonstrating the superior energy density and competitive economics of an engineered geothermal system (EGS) resource in high temperature (>400 °C) impermeable rock at the Newberry Volcano near Bend, Ore.

Chevron, Enterprise to study CCUS opportunities in the US Gulf Coast | Upstream Online

Chevron has signed memorandum of understanding with pipeline company Enterprise Products Partners to study carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) opportunities in the US Gulf Coast and Mid-continent . Under the outlined partnership, Chevron would provide sub-surface expertise while Enterprise brings its midstream and storage experience.
