Step by Step Tutorial: Pick-Up & Knit

This week I'll be sharing a tutorial for the Pick-Up and Knit (pu/k) technique so that you can change directions in your knitted fabric like we do in my new Dragon Force shawl pattern.

This technique works easiest when worked into an edge that has a slipped-stitch selvedge so that you can see right where to put your needle each row. I've included an explanation of a slipped-stitch selvedge in the tutorial as well.

Sneak Peak at the Naiad Shawl

I realized that I’ve been sharing a lot of info about this project in my Instagram stories (and everything is in a Naiad Shawl Highlight in my Insta-profile), but I’ve yet to share much progress on this pattern redesign anywhere else.

The pattern will likely go off to my tech editor this week as some of my test knitters are already finishing theirs. Then MJ Yarns & I have plans for a really fun pattern launch!

So, keep an eye out for more updates & sneak peeks of this super customizable & fun knit as this week goes on & I’ll see you all soon!!

Friday Finish - Magic Fringe Shawl

This week I finally finished and mailed out this version of my Magic Fringe Shawl to a friend.

The colors are getting a little blown out, but it’s made from Queenie Crochet’s beautiful Chocolate Bar colorway & Brown Sheep Co’s Black Legacy Lace (lace was held double).

Since it’s a mosaic pattern it’s really squishy, but these yarns have really nice drape so this shawl hangs really nicely & I’m super happy with it.
