Book a Shout Out speaker

MYAN WA's Shout Out program is an opportunity for young people to redress the balance and present their stories and experiences to audiences that may not usually have the chance to hear them. Our speakers are all young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds that have been trained to deliver fresh, engaging and thought-provoking perspectives in a range of settings across WA. Our speakers present on topics from their perspectives and experiences and address topics including but not limited to: multiculturalism, education, refugee experience, leadership, discrimination, identity and belonging.

Become a YACWA member!

Over 40 years ago, a small but dedicated group of youth workers banded together to form a united front called the Youth Affairs Council of WA. They were trouble-makers, firebrands and agitators, hell-bent on championing the rights of young people in our state and holding our institutions to account.

Membership at YACWA is a strong and resounding demonstration of your organisation’s commitment to social justice, human rights, and of your genuine desire to ensure young people are heard and empowered to influence society.  By becoming a member, you’ll be lending your name to a movement more than four decades in the making. Your support enables us to speak truth to power, hold government accountable and fight for more just, fair and equitable society for young Western Australians.

Health System Information for CALD people
The Health Consumers’ Council (WA) strives to increase the capacity of all people to influence the future direction of healthcare and to make informed choices. Health literacy is the ability of a person to obtain, understand, process and use health information to influence decisions about services or treatment. It has come to their attention that there may be possible gaps in the resources available for this audience. They would like your opinion on this matter so that if a gap exists, they can potentially help to fill it.
