Meijer Simply Give Campaign Ludington Meijer is partnering with Lakeshore Food Club for the Fall Simply Give Campaign running Sunday, August 19th through Saturday, September 15th. Meijer customers are encouraged to purchase Meijer Simply Give donation cards with the donations going directly to the Food Club to help replenish the shelves and serve local families. |

Kate Stays on as Program Coordinator Kate Lietz's official time as an AmeriCorps VISTA member comes to an end on August 27. The Lakeshore Food Club Board of Directors is pleased to announce Kate will be staying on as a part time employee beginning in September 2018. Kate's new position is that of Program Coordinator. In this role she'll continue to manage and expand the volunteer program, coordinate workshops and classes, assist in sourcing food more locally and affordably and tackle any any other projects and tasks to support the Food Club's mission and vision. |

Taste a Rainbow Summer Program Success A huge thanks to Instructors Kendra Gibson and Chris Schulte for taking kids on a fun summertime journey to learn about gardening and eating healthy here at the Lakeshore Food Club! Children were able to help grow a garden, taste fresh foods, hear stories, make crafts, play games and learn about being healthy! |

The theme for August donations is "fresh food" (fruits and vegetables). For September we will be collecting healthy snack items for school age children. | | |

From community and backyard gardens to small farms, growers are sharing their bounty of nutritious, locally grown produce with LFC members. Tale of Two “Dons” Don Allen (left) and Don Rivard (right) are two of the mainstays in the volunteer corps for the Lakeshore Food Club. The two “Dons” work on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons every week and on other occasions as needed.
