Liberty Chamber

June Newsletter!!

Thank you for making our Chamber a success!!

Spring was definitely in the air at the Liberty Chamber Spring Appreciation Luncheon held on Wednesday May 9, 2018. Not only was the setting bright and beautiful at the First United Methodist Church of Liberty, but the atmosphere was, as well. Positive and optimistic views prevailed, from all of the public officials and guest speakers. Approximately 70 chamber members and invited guests from all aspects of the community attended the annual informational luncheon. There were plenty of fresh faces and perspectives. It was an opportunity to hear updated plans and new ideas from significant people throughout the county and surrounding area. It is always refreshing to hear news about Liberty from a larger perspective. We have to agree with the Liberty Town Manager, who stated, “On behalf of the Mayor and Council, we want to thank you for putting together such an impressive guest list. The Chamber did a great job!” In attendance were, NC House  Representative Allen McNeill, NC House Representative Majority Whip Jon Hardister, Randolph County Commissioner; Chairman David Allen, Randolph County Commissioner Vice-Chairman Darrell Frye. Kevin Franklin from the Randolph County Economic Development Corporation, Tammy O’Kelly representing the “Heart of North Carolina” Randolph County Tourism Development Authority, Jessica McDaniel from the Randolph County Community College Small Business Center. Area schools, Liberty Elementary, NERMS, and Providence Grove HS were represented by either their principal, administrative staff, or guidance counselors and career coordinators. Our very own, Liberty Mayor Filmore York, and new Town Manager William Doerfer gave a  Town of Liberty community update. The overall theme was expressed through the importance of positive collaboration between community, businesses, organizations, government, and schools, and the necessity to partner with each other to accomplish goals. The business outlook for Liberty looks promising!
